Hubby and I went to a concert last night at our downtown local theater, called the Rialto. We were treated to a fantastic concert. The band, Swing Je T’aime, plays Gypsy Jazz style music. They are all local musicians based in Denver. Go listen to them if you get a chance, you won’t be disappointed!

A 22 year old internationally-renowned Gypsy jazz guitarist from Finland was a featured guest of Swing Je T’aime. His name is Ollie Soikkeli and he is touring the United States. Unbelievable, so truly gifted. He can play the guitar; started playing when he was 12 years old!

I’ve never heard of Gypsy Jazz style before, so I had no idea what to expect, but WOW! Incredible. I would definitely check them out. It’s amazing that a 22-year-old can become internationally renowned after 10 years of playing the guitar. Thank you for the wonderful links and post!
I had never heard of it as well. We did not know what to expect. We were saying before the performance “well if we don’t like it we can leave”. Leave? – we were mesmerized. Every single musician played their instrument amazingly well! It was a delight. It is a treat to see such talented people.
Our first experience with Gypsy Jazz was while we were traveling in Mexico and we fell in love.
It was a wonderful experience; I love all types of music (well, except RAP). I have been listening to the CD we purchased of Swing Je T’aime.
