I couldn’t hear their music,
The waves were signing just for them,
I could only watch in awe,
As they danced their dance,
In the early hours of morning’s glow.

Photo Challenge for April 18, 2015 called EarlyBird
This is my first time participating in a photo challenge.
I got up early to watch the sunrise while camping at Fort De Soto County Park, Florida. On this beautiful morning I watched the area come alive with life.
Your writing is as beautiful as your pictures… you do great justice to the earth, sea, and sky. Truly lovely, and inspiring me to return to my writing efforts.
Dear Anne Marie, you are so sweet to say and your words mean a lot to me. I haven’t heard from you lately! Your writing is beautiful and you should get back to publishing your thoughts! Love you lady!!
Stunning images, Sheila. The shimmering golden water is so lovely, and your beautiful birds are really elegant. Love the fins all aglow. 🙂
I had such a wonderful time at Fort De Soto. Our time there was filled with new experiences for me; like getting up to watch the sunrise and to catch the early morning light. Just me, nature and my camera. Not to say I wouln have enjoyed being out with other birders. 😄Thanks so much for your sweet words. We have been at Lake Manatee State Park and will head to Myakka River State Park in the morning. I understand there are lots of birds there! This area around Sarasota is booming. First time this far south on the west coast!
What a beautiful morning glow! Your captures are beautiful Sheila! I so miss the shore and birds and love coming to your blog to get my “beach fix”. “Side by side in peace”…words we all need to live by…that’s my favorite picture for the day!
Gay, I am so glad you enjoyed these photos 😊
FANTABULOUS!!!
Wish you would have been with me!!!!
Your words and photos are so beautiful. I love the captions on the photos! Those dolphin fins are hard to capture. Awesome!
Thank you Beth. You would love this park! You would fit, just have to be careful picking one. You could always go to Lake Manatee State Park, which has big sites and drive over to Fort De Soto to check it out. It fills up fast, but even a day trip is worth the time! Thanks again, glad you enjoyed them! Chat with you soon!
What a lovely golden glow! No wonder they all danced!
Kind words from a master poet and photographer! Thanks Kathie!! ☺️
great photos, I especially liked the dolphins. I used to go to Ft Desoto all the time when I was growing up over there in Johns Pass (Madeira Beach). I do miss it, but sad how much the area has grown.
Hi Captjill! Thanks for stopping by. This was our first visit to Fort Desoto and I will remember my visit always. I fell in love with this gorgeous area and being a birder make it even more special. What a wonderful place you got to grow up near and I am sure it played a part in your appreciation of nature. It is very sad to see commercialism taking over places such as this. Hopefully, our parks will stay as natural as possible.
Beautiful poetry and photos.
Thank you so much. I am glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for stopping by.
