Chapungu African Sculpture Park in Loveland, Colorado
Trails at the Chapungu Park wind through twenty-six acres of wetlands and past more than eighty stone sculptures. The sculptures are handmade by Shona sculptors from stone brought from Zimbabwe. The Shona people have lived in southern Africa for thousands of years and the sculptures are meant to represent their traditional African perspective.

A friend and I spent a lovely day strolling in Chapungu African Sculpture Park, soaking up the sun and enjoying these beautiful African sculptures. We only got to see about one-third of the entire park so we must go back.
Here are a few photos from our visit on September 25, 2013.

This looks like the perfect setting for a sunny autumn day.
Hi LuAnn, it was a beautiful day. Autumn is so gorgeous here in Colorado. As I am sure it is a lot of places. 😉
Hi LuAnn, you just can’t ask for better weather then in Colorado in the Fall! It has been beautiful! However, this Friday it is going to be COLD with a chance of rain mixed with snow!
Incredible photos. I never knew they had anything like that in the States. It looks like it was a beautiful day for a stroll. 🙂
Hi Cubby, don’t you just love the word “stroll”. It is an old fashion word to me and it seemed to fit here. Yes, Loveland is a beautiful artsy community with a lot of talented people. I am glad you liked my photos and this post!
I never knew something like. This existed.
Hi Marshall! Hope things are going well in Texas! Loveland is unique, in that we have a lot of artists living and working here. I think Loveland draws this type of exhibits! It is nice
Is this near the Shops at Centerra? When my daughter went to school in Fort Collins we would frequent that shopping center and every time I’d turn in to the mall I would notice a beautiful garden….never had enough time to meander around though.
Hi Ingrid! Yes exactly, this sculpture park is located on the east side of Centerra. It is lovely and I can’t wait to visit the rest of the park. It took me too long, as a resident, to visit the park. Now I realize what a treasure we have here in Loveland.
I graduated from CSU and also retired from there. When we moved here in 1986, I went back to school and received my Computer Information Systems degree and then worked there from 1990 until 2006.
Amazing pics and beautiful sculptures!!
Hi Barb, it was a lovely walk through this sculpture park. Thank you! I hope you are doing well. I need to catch up on blogs and comments. Talk with you soon.
Sheila, those sculptures are beautiful!
Hi Mia! Glad to hear from you! You have been so busy taking your outstanding photos!. Just know I visit your site often, if not everyday, to see them! Take care.
