Hi Gay, this is a beautiful area; I have no doubt you would enjoy a visit. If you ever travel to Natchez State Park, don’t stay in Loop A, because it is too heavily treed. Instead choose Loop B.
We traveled Hwy 61 from I20, which is extremely picturesque and a very good road. We had to be careful driving through the town of Port Gibson, because Main Street was a canopy of beautiful trees almost covering the Hwy. I bet the people there don’t want to have them trimmed. Also, Natchez State Park will let you stay for $12.00 a night if one party is over 65.
We will go back and travel the Natchez Trace, I can imagine how beautiful it must be.
I have heard wonderful, things about Natchez. Haven’t explored that area yet…it’s in our future. I know you will lots of beautiful pictures! Enjoy…..
