One of our favorite things to do, when visiting a place, is to seek out local restaurants. While camping at Rainbow Springs State Park in Dunnellon, Florida, we discovered a wonderful place. Howard first noticed this restaurant, because they had a huge smoker and it was sending smoke signals up into the air. Howard enjoyed a 9 out of 10 rating (his) pulled-pork sandwich and I had the very best smoked salmon I have ever tasted.
We also love to seek out great tasting micro-brew! No, no only one beer or a few samples at a time! {grins}
Loafer’s Restaurant has an extensive list of draft, micro-brews! We were given a couple samples and chose one called – Liquid Bliss, a Chocolate-Peanut Butter beer brewed by Terrapin Brewery in Athens, GA. One might think that this beer would have an overpowering favor of peanut butter, but it doesn’t! It is delightful.
With two visits, to Loafer’s, we accomplished – Pure Bliss!
Cheers to all, Happy New Year…..
It seems like lots of folks enjoy trying all those micro brews. I have never really cared for beer, so that leaves me out of that hobby. 🙂
Hi Judy.
Howard and I agree, you should try one of the 100’s of micro brews available today. They don’t taste anything like what an older, regular, colored water beer would taste like.
You just might enjoy one! We have noticed in the grocery stores that they are selling individual bottles. You could look them over and choose one to try.
I recently tried several new ones Cranberry-Ginger, an Orange, a Vanilla Porter and a bourbon whiskey-barrel brew. They take an old bourbon-barrel and brew the beer inside it to pick up a hint of bourbon. I don’t drink any hard liquor, but this tasted good.
I enjoy the darkest brew I can find – a nice smooth porter! 🙂 Our all time favorite, for many years now, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat!
Cheers!
Liquid Bliss sounds wonderful! We just discovered at Peanut Butter Milk Stout here and it is heavenly:)
Sounds wonderful! Do you remember the brewery?
It’s always fun checking out little local places. Wishing you a wonderful New Year 🙂
It is Ingrid, especially if they have good food and friendly service. We enjoy the local atmosphere of a place! While at Lake Louisa we go to a local Asian Bistro called Akina. The food is fabulous and the waitress very friendly. Getting to know her was fun!
Cheer and Happy Travels in 2015!
Chocolate peanut butter beer! How could it be bad? Happy New Year!
Give it a try. It can’t be bad – right? Brewed in GA!
My hubby would enjoy this place. 🙂
I think he would have! The owners just purchased and remodeled this restaurant and bar area. I wish I would have taken a photo of the bar! It was very nice, decorated with old cedar boards.
Happy New Year!
Thanks LuAnn and Happy New Year to you and Terry! Hoping it’s the best ever!
