~Devil’s Backbone
Long ago it rose,
its majestic beauty,
graces the sky,
home to many…
soaring hawks,
howling coyotes,
wild rabbits,
slithering snakes,
all are welcome.

Lichen on boulders,
showy patterns of life,
some more colorful than others.

Naked without their leaves,
displaying their strong soul,
waiting for spring.

More on our walk today, tomorrow.
first flight
wings strong
live a long life
will be listening for your sweet song

A baby American Kestrel fledged this morning from a nesting box a neighbor has on her house.
A river flows strong and fast,
created by summer’s warmth,
boulders round and smooth,
created by years past.

Wildflowers bloom pretty and tall,
created by spring rains,
display their blooms,
through the fall.

dressed in summer green
a peaceful place
