~A Sweetheart of a Tiny Bird

The Black-capped Chickadee…

This tiny bird with a huge personality is one of my favorite birds. They express happiness and energy in everything they do. Whether it be sitting still on a tree branch, which isn’t for long, or hanging upside down looking for a snack or pecking on a sunflower seed grasp in its feet. I have several that hang out in my yard, which is filled with pines, oaks and aspens. They seem to manage just fine during these cold, windy and snowy months.
I’am watching you!

See ya’ll next time….

I don’t remember what these beautiful flowers are called. But, they continue to bloom and bloom!

Mountain Chickadee
Mountain Chickadee. We haven’t had a Mountain in our yard in a while. We are at 5,000 feet elevation; they like the higher elevations. Nice to see!
Hmmm
“Hmmm! What do I have here?”

It can be fun walking around in your own yard!

Poetry:~Chick-a-Dee, Dee, Dee~

Chick-a-Dee,

Dee, Dee she calls,

With steady precision,

 Glides in swiftly,

Picks a treat,

Working hard.

~

With her treasure,

Flies to a branch,

Seed held tight,

She hammers away,

Until she succeeds,

Devouring her meal.

~

Chick-a-Dee,

Dee, Dee she calls,

Back and forth,

Back and forth,

She repeats her need,

Working hard.

While drinking a cup of coffee this morning, from the comfort of our living room, we watched a little Chickadee consume her breakfast.

She worked hard trying to nourish herself. She was dealing with cloudy skies, cold temperatures and breezy winds.
