Dropped like a gift,
A seed from another.
~
Slowly you grow,
Golden petals long and slim.
~

~
Your elegant, but strong leaves,
Swaying in the breeze.
~

~
You grace us with your presence,
As you lift to face the sun.
~
Lying in your center,
Is the heart of your being.
~

~
Growing new seeds,
To feed those in need.
~

~
A seed is taken, a seed is eaten,
A seed is dropped, which begins to grow.
~
To again,
Feed those who happen by.

Beautiful poetry – sunflowers are my very favorite. They’re just so “cheery!” 🙂
Hi Cheryl, this lovely, four foot, Sunflower sprang up next to one of my birdbaths. It is the only one around. I agree, Sunflowers are cheery! I hope to capture more images of the other two pods once they begin to open. Hope you have a great day!
Very Nice Sunflowers are one of the moments of happiness.
I do believe flowers bring happiness to those that take the time to appreciate their beauty.
Makes me smile! 🙂 k
