My friend Gay invited me to participate in a black and white photo challenge. Here are the rules she published:
1. On five consecutive days create a post using a recent or past photograph in black and white.
2. Invite a blogging friend each day to join the challenge.

I wondered what black and white photo I could post to begin this challenge and it came to me yesterday while enjoying one of life’s simple pleasures – Afternoon Tea!
So today, as I enjoyed my afternoon tea, I took this photo.
Tea Time
I have long been an Iced Tea drinker and it is still my preferred drink. However, over the last several years, I have come to enjoy a nice cup of hot tea in the afternoon.
The little Tea Pot belonged to my Mother. She loved to wonder around antique stores and perhaps this is where she found this beautiful, little pot – not sure. It makes me think of her, so that is why it is special. I don’t remember where the little, country scene, tea cup came from, but I love using it to drink my tea.
I remember reading one of Dina’s blogs, The World According to Dina, at Toffeefee on how to brew and enjoy a perfect cup of hot tea. Check out her post on Tea and Tradition!
Since reading Dina’s blog, I have been drinking my tea with a little cream and honey. Just last week, I discovered some great Colorado honey!
I don’t use the loose tea leaves as Dina does; instead I use the herbal tea bags. I like to have a different one each day.

Beautiful photo in B&W Sheila. I too love a good cup of tea in the afternoon.
A few years ago, before life on the road, Joe bought us a tea pot and cups. He loves hot tea he had carefully picked out a Victorian Tea Room. I didn’t really enjoy it then (as a born and raised southern gal, sweet ice tea is all I had ever tried). Now, I am thinking my tastes have changed and the idea of honey and cream sound like a warm and nice treat. Your first photo is beautiful! And so special to know the pot was your mom’s.

About the time I saw your post and was so excited to have you accept, Joe came to the door and asked for a “card” to give someone he met. Well, when he shut the door, my thumb was in the doorframe and was smashed! Hurt like the dickens. Anyway, my apologies!
Hi Pam! It just happened that when I got to setting the “scene” to take the photo I could include a note about my Mom! She lovely browsing Antique stores. Hope you guys are having good weather – Happy Hiking!

What a lovely sounding adventure you were about to go on – “go into the marshes”. Sounds like something I would enjoy!
I was thrilled to find this new bottle of honey here in one of our local grocery stores. We finished the big bottle we got while in Roswell and one we purchased in Florida (Orange Blossom). Glad you enjoy a nice cup of hot tea with honey! Local honey at that – 🙂

I bought a bottle of Texas honey when we first got to Texas and it was gone by the time we got home!
