Never in my life have I attempted to write poetry; however I am currently enjoying trying.

~A walk through the spirit of a day

Alafia River State Park
January 26, 2016
~
A walk through the spirit of a day,
The path before us leads the way,
The breeze blows, tree canopies sway,
Sunbeams don’t reach the ground, the skies are gray,
Little eyes peer out of the bay,
On a log, in the water they play,
Heard the nine notes, the elusive owl looks for prey,
She will show herself we say,
It truly was delightful, yea.

Nature has a heart.

Thanks for a good time!

~Hugs, a Tanka

 Hugs…

~

Loving hugs given

are warm greetings

from my heart to yours

rendered with deep feelings

for our cherished friendship

~

A hug is like a,

breeze softly touching you.

A hug is like a,

sunset wrapping you in warmth.

A hug is like a,

brilliant star smiling back at you.

~

Accept a hug as intended,

a token of kindness,

from a loving soul.

for someone special,

~

From my heart to yours….

Don’t feel pity for me,

I have an injury and,

can’t be set free.

We’re part of a team,

teaching all those that come,

the wonders that be.

"I am fine."
“I am fine.”

I took these photos back in February while visiting the Hobe Sound Nature Center. Sorry for the poor lighting.  I wasn’t able to determine the cause of the injuries to these two beautiful birds.

You can visit the web-site for the HSNC at http://hobesoundnaturecenter.com to see the other members of the “Teaching Team”.

Even though confined by the boundaries of perches and enclosures, I believe they have the best possible life under the circumstances.

~A Note From a Friend

This past week I received a card from a dear friend. I thought I would share with you the words.

For a friend…

A friend is someone we turn to when our spirits need a lift.

A friend is someone we treasure for our friendship is a gift.

A friend is someone who fills our lives with beauty, joy and grace.

And makes the whole world we live in a better and happier place.

~Jean Kyler McManus

Treasure your friends and let them know how much they mean to you. Thank you my dear friend for sending me such a beautiful card! Love always.
