My contribution to

Good Fences

a fence built with wire and old trees,

stands along a Texas Hill Country road side,

it can be a lonely place,

for a little Lesser Goldfinch,

until his pals show up

Waiting
Waiting! Where are they?

Pals are wonderful to have!
It is wonderful to have pals to share your life with!

We were staying at the Buckhorn in Kerrville, Texas back in April 2014 and I spotted these Lesser Gold Finches flitting around. I didn’t get the best shots of them, but of course the chase is always fun!

However, I did remember this lovely fence.

    1. Thank you for hosting such a wonderful idea for photos! I don’t have many photos of fences, but I will now be on the look out for them.

    1. Hi Judy! Thanks!

Sometimes, I never know what I am going to write. I guess that is the fun, for me, to compile a “scene” and come up with the words.

Hope you are staying tick free. We have a neighbor that was bitten here in Loveland, Colorado. He developed Rocky Mountain Tick Fever from this bite and was extremely ill. It also is recurring, but each year a milder case. Be careful up there! 😉

    1. Hi Eileen! I am so glad his friends showed up as well! I hope you are doing well. I hope to capture a “critter” to post on your site. My problem is the way our house is situated on the hill, I can’t sneak up on them easily. I will capture one!

One day, while sitting in our basement, which is our computer/ham room, I deer looked in the window. Now that would have been a shot!

    1. Hi Felicia! There was a bunch of them and they were hard to get close to. They must have been migrating through the area at the time. I see a few here in Loveland. They are really pretty in their breeding plumage. I had one American Goldfinch in my yard the other day.
